Japanese vendors are exhibiting two camera modules that can be used in mobile phones, a 16.4 MP resolution and the other 8.1 MP. Sophistication, both modules can record full HD video.
Try cell phone camera technology breakthrough presented by Sony. They claim to have created a record for the highest-resolution camera phones today, the 16.4 MP.
Both cameras use sensor Exmor technology called R that has been used in many Sony camera products. The module has a 16.4 MP image sensor back-illuminated CMOS 1/2.8. Pixel size is very small, only 1.12 microns.
Sony realized that with the small pixel size, image quality can be bad. But they claim to have implemented special technologies for the images remain good.
Two products will begin shipping in January 2011. It could be 16.4 MP camera will then be used in phones made by Sony Ericsson. (Detikinet)
